Job Summary

CNC Setup Machinists quickly and accurately setup assigned machines to support the schedule. Operate and maintain all assigned machines and perform required and advanced retooling when required.

Education and Experience

HS Diploma/GED and 2-4 Years of Experience

Knowledge

Able to read part drawings, understand production processes, quality control, and cost efficiency. Trained to use precision measuring tools like micrometers, drop indicators, and gauges.

Primary Job Duties

  • Installation and adjustment of collets and guide bushings
  • Bar loader set-up and adjustments
  • Preset/Set tools, able to install tools and measure/set tools.
  • Able to adjust and set coolant lines
  • Ability to read the program to understand what each tool is doing (tool paths).
  • Ability to make offsets to tools
  • Complete inspection of First Article Parts.
  • Know and follow the proper procedure for teardowns.
  • Working knowledge and comprehension of blue prints
  • Indicate tooling positions
  • Ability to read and comprehend program and tool paths.
  • Good understanding of codes used in program.
  • Working Knowledge of GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Investigate and provide resolution on potential discrepant parts
  • Calculate feeds and speeds
  • Trouble shoot both CNC machines and automatic bar loaders
  • Perform tool changes prior to the end of shift to ensure the machine runs the part within specifications on the off shift.
  • Update and provide the needed information to support the setup module, quality module and View module.

Job Summary

Critical to Quality Operators will demonstrate the ability to correctly use established precision measuring devices and methods in performing in process inspection of parts coming off their designated machines. Operators capture, validate and record defined characteristics as defined in the Critical to Quality Module.

Primary Job Duties

  • Read and interpret basic dimensions from blueprints
  • Use hand measuring tools to inspect parts
  • Use visual measuring tools to inspect parts
  • Use inspection gauges to inspect parts
  • Identify burrs with or without magnification
  • Understand and interpret discus requirements.
  • Understand the basic functions of the various machine controllers.
  • Understand the CTQ (Critical to Quality) Module and how to interpret the various recorded observations.
  • Rework parts as assigned
  • Assist in retooling
  • Perform changeovers and cleaning of machines
  • Refill oil and Lubrication in the machines.
  • Keep bar loaders stocked with material.
  • Stop production if serious product defects are present.
  • Report the defects, results, or other regularly reported quality control data.
  • Document testing procedures and results from inspections.
  • Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field of quality control.

Job Summary

Ensure that operators and setup personnel on the floor are inspecting/producing compliant machined parts in accordance with best practices, customer requirements, and discus parameters by performing 1st article inspections, and final inspections on completed parts before they are shipped to the customer.

1-2 Years of Experience

Primary Job Duties

• Perform first article inspections of parts from machine setup personnel
• Perform final inspections on completed parts of all bins prior to shipping.
• Read and interpret blueprints including GD&T
• Use inspection equipment that include micrometers, drop indicator, concentricity gage, optical comparator, Keyence, thread gages, gage pins, pick-up/drop weights, Chatillon (separation/engagement testing), height gage, and mantises to inspect parts.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on finished parts.
• Do inspections on the production floor as required
• Perform rework on non-compliant product using a variety of methods to get the product back in compliance with customer specifications.
• Sort product for potential defects using a variety of different methods of inspection.
• Complete AS9102 paperwork as well as other customer required paperwork
